International Women’s Day: Inspiring Women in Interior Design

As part of International Women’s Day, we thought we’d dedicate a blog post to 3 inspiring women from the Interior Design Industry.

1. Kim Parker for Clarke & Clarke

Originating as an artist, Kim Parker is now an iconic lifestyle designer brand which was launched in 2001. The beautiful prints and patterns all feature stunning floral artwork, designed by the woman herself, featuring a variety of exotic and warm colourations, fit for any room of the house.

Going from strength to strength with her wall art pieces and collaborations, Kim Parker then worked with Clarke & Clarke to create the Art Book Fabrics and Wallpaper selection that we absolutely love.

2. Orla Keily for Harlequin

Orla Keily has worked her way up to being one of the most iconic designers in the industry; you’ll find her retro style patterns and funky colourschemes literally everywhere; on walls, poster, mugs, pens and lunch boxes where ever you go!

Her easy to use, simple tessellated patterns were then featured in her collaboration with Harlequin several years ago, and still the collection is as popular as ever.

If you’ve not seen the collection (where have you been?!) view it here!

3. Emma Bridgewater for Sanderson

Again, if you haven’t seen this woman crop up on our decorating journeys, you’re looking in all the wrong places. Emma Bridgewater has coated the walls, furnishings, crockery and stationary in her beautifully shabby chic patterns for years now, and is the perfect choice for a country home.

Be sure to take a look at the Emma Bridgewater Fabrics and Wallpapers from Sanderson and get decorating the whole house.

So those are three inspirational women in our industry. Take a look at some of their work and be inspired to be your own person today!
