As avid Interior Design fans, of course we’ve been watching the latest Season of Great British Interior Design Challenge. Each episode, budding interior designers compete against each other by completing a room within a house, each with a different design brief. They are then judged on their presentation, adaptability to the client’s needs and of course, the room itself.
From episode 1, we’ve spotted a few familiar pieces that are available on our site, and it’d be rude not to create look books for you to get the look yourself!
This client wished for a colourful, Bloomsbury inspired look from the 20s, and she definitely got that. With intricate botanical wallpapers and a controversial – yet ideal – colourscheme, the room has been transformed into a quirky and warm living space.
We hope you noticed the use of Morris & Co’s iconic Seaweed Wallpaper, too! This vibrant pattern really adds something extra to the room and contrasts well with the plain walls and furnishings that counterbalance it.
We absolutely love the electric blue headboard, and this look is so easy to achieve. Cristina Marrone offer a huge selection of fabrics in a variety of compositions, all suitable for Upholstery – we’ve chosen the Savona Fabric in Sapphire to get you started.
This Scandinavian retreat style master bedroom wasn’t exactly what the client ordered, but it works anyway! With light and airy sheers, and a large focus on keeping everything neat, tidy and white, this simplistic style would help anyone wake up feeling fresh and alert. Bring in copper furnishings, zesty greenery and plenty of nature-inspired accessories, and you’ve got a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Our Harlequin Landscapes Voiles range offers an easy to use voile material, ideal for this look. Dipped with splashes of colour, the Tranquil Fabrics really become the centre of attention within the room.
So that’s two of the rooms seen in episode one of the season. Watch out for more look books popping up throughout the show for tips, inspiration and where to buy!
